About Us

Aiga is a Samoan word which when translated means extended family. In Southern Hemisphere culture the family bond is everlasting and remains strong. Youngsters are taught of honour, respect and trust. Whilst being highly innovative and forward thinking AIGA Ltd. is an organisation with these cultural themes at its core.

Mike Umaga (Director)
Born in New Zealand to Samoan parents, Mike Umaga represented Manu Samoa on 31 occasions taking in 2 RWC’s (95 & 99).

Having served his rugby apprenticeship in the NZ NPC with Wellington RFU and representing them 61 times, Mike was fortunate enough to be offered the chance to pit his skills against some of the world’s best Rugby League stars in the newly formed Super League in England with Halifax RL.

After a successful 3 seasons with Halifax, Mike returned to his beloved Rugby Union with National One team Rotherham RFC and enjoyed 6 years as a player/ coach of the club.

During this time Rotherham RFC won 3 National One Championships and 2 promotions to the English Premierships as well as a Powergen Shield trophy.

Mike is currently an RFU Level III coach, has a Diploma in Sports Psychology and is working towards his qualifications as a Sports Conditioner and an RFU Coach Educator.

Throughout his rugby career Mike has come into contact with many of Sports leading names and taken into account their views on sport and life whilst working toward his own style of Coaching.

Jai Purewal (Director)
Jai Purewal BSc (hons) a Sports Science graduate has worked in the professional sporting environment for the last 10 years. Experience gained from the UK Higher Education, the English RFU National Division One and the UK Charity Sector has established Purewal as a well respected and highly capable individual.
